For the past two years, IN THE WAKE TV has officially covered the Tribeca Film Festival, backed by a founding team with over a decade of collective experience navigating and documenting this global event.

While the festival presents countless incredible films, our presence there serves a highly specific, unwavering purpose: curating the screenings, projects, and conversations that directly align with our editorial pillars.

Our Tribeca coverage is guided by the core editorial values, which establishes that our work is rooted locally, connected regionally, and relevant nationally. When we select which films and filmmakers to amplify, we are looking for storytelling that grounds itself in real relationships and lived experiences.

Whether a film centers on a neighborhood in Newark, a family in Detroit, or a community in Brooklyn, we highlight work that preserves local authenticity while contributing to broader cultural and civic conversations. Our curation reflects our fundamental approach as a platform covering one interconnected community that happens to live in many places.

When you follow our festival coverage, you can expect us to ask our foundational question: *How does this story affect real people?* We seek out the deeper human narrative behind the camera and on the screen. A documentary about transportation is not just a policy film; it is a story about access to opportunity. A narrative feature about an independent business is a story about community wealth and labor.

We prioritize the voices of the artists, residents, and organizers shaping these narratives, recognizing that lived experience carries as much weight as professional expertise.

We look forward to sharing stories that highlight the struggle, joy, imagination, and everyday reality of Black communities, honoring the art that reveals the true richness of the people it portrays.
