Half a Century of Sweet Bread & Staying Power: Celebrating Le Foyer Bakery’s 50-Year Legacy in Mattapan
Fifty years of nourishing our families, keeping our cultures alive, and holding down the block.
On July 15th, Babson Street filled with music, laughter, and the rich scent of warm spices as community members gathered to honor the golden anniversary of Le Foyer Bakery—a sacred Mattapan anchor that has spent a half-century serving up legendary Haitian patties, sweet bread, and everyday joy.

In a system where predatory real estate and rising costs too often try to push our institutions out, reaching 50 years of operation isn't just a milestone; it is a beautiful act of staying power and local sovereignty. Le Foyer is so much more than a business—it is a sanctuary of culture and connection where we are always welcomed with open arms. Here’s to 50 more years of loving our people, feeding our souls, and keeping our roots strong!
